It is deeply disturbing that former Monsanto executives have been placed in top US government posts in the USDA and FDA and the main reason Monsanto has been allowed to dominate so much of US agriculture. In 2006, U.S. GMO crops reached just shy of 135 million acres, with the total global area exceeding 230 million acres!
This is a short list of the genetically modified food crops that are...

The Nasty Bite saga
The Nasty Bite doesn’t burn anymore, but the redness has changed shape again. Now it looks like lips or a squished heart. It’s about an inch and a half in length, half an inch in width. Still red, but it doesn’t hurt anymore and the welt is gone.
So, no flesh-eating bacteria, no necrosis, no bad stuff. It looks like it’s healing.
Thank you to everyone who was concerned...

A birthday!
Tomorrow (Tuesday, August 31st) is Joe’s (@webdancer) birthday. He’s been such a great, double-rainbow-all-the-way kinda guy so I’m asking everyone to please both birthday greetings for him.
Remember, he was the one I was competing with for the Nook until he decided that he wanted me to win. How awesome is he? So awesome that Scott Sigler decided that he should get a Nook, as...
The pictures look bad!
Ok, my arm isn’t that red. I couldn’t use the flash on my camera phone because it made the arm looked washed out and I couldn’t see the nasty bite at all. I held my arm close to my bedside lamp to get a good picture, but now I see that they make it look worse than it is.
The red part is a little bigger than a half-dollar coin. It’s shaped like two tear drops, the points...
Two down, one to go!
webdancer:
I got real excited today when I checked the mail. There was not one but two packages from Dark Overlord Media. I knew that Jessica had received her copy of Ancestor but Santa Sigler had also sent me another parcel. I received my personalized copy of The Rookie! And now I am off to rearrange my bookshelf. My collection of signed books requires a larger parcel of real-estate. Thank you...
It doesn't even itch
It just burns. It burns like a really, really bad sunburn that someone just slapped.
IT BURNS. :0
And my wrist is really hurting. I don’t know if that’s related, but it’s hurting more than usual.

Bug bite?
That’s what I’m thinking. Living in the desert, I’ve received a lot of bug and spider bites throughout my life. I’ve never had anything like this, though.

Yeah. Infected was great. He does really well reading also. Speaking as a guy, the end was really messed up. I had to go into the bathroom and cry for a while. That ad was just wrong. Everyone knows a douche is the guarantee for a raise. ;-)

That is awesome. Looks like it just got caught reading something scary.
webdancer replied to your post: Are you a good witch, or a bad witch?
Are we talking how well is performs her witching duties, as in a job review sort of way, or evil/pure manner? I’m just asking.
Maybe the kitty was reading a Scott Sigler novel....

bluecrab asked: Are you a good witch, or a bad witch?
strangeninja asked: I was wondering if you had read anything by Sharon Shinn. I stumbled upon Quatrain at the library (the cover art snagged my attention) and its 4 novellas that I tore through in a day.
Now I'm reading one called Angel Seeker and am reading it pretty much non-stop. I know you have read the Sookie Stackhouse books so you're not opposed to fantasy-type books. And wanted to...

I ended up in the E.R. last night, I am really not looking forward to finding out how much that trip will cost me. Basically they ruled out the scariest scenarios and I found out that my kidneys are functioning normally and since I’ve been on antibiotics there are no signs of infection. Everyone I know has a theory about what could be wrong with me. I have no idea. I’m just tired of it. I...

webdancer-deactivated20111120-d asked: No they haven't sent me anything. I am just hoping it will arrive and surprise me. I hadn't seen you much on here and had begun to wonder if you had gotten yours. After realizing I had not heard squeals of excitement from West Texas, I assumed you were still waiting by the mailbox everyday. ;-)

I woke up and found an email that someone tried to change my Formspring.me password.
Hmm…
Why would someone try to hack a Formspring.me account? Do they really want to answer questions people ask me? Is that a thing now?
I need a new show to watch
Either on Hulu or not (I download almost everything).
Suggestions?
